My name is Can (Sunny) Huang, and I am a master’s degree candidate in Urban Planning at Columbia University, with a focus on the intersection of urban design, sustainable development, community planning, and social justice. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Urban and Rural Planning from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China, where I built a strong foundation in spatial analysis, design, and environmental studies.
Through my academic and professional experiences, I have honed my design skills in software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, SketchUp, Lumion, and Rhino, etc. I have also utilized Geographic Information System (GIS) tools to analyze infrastructure and transportation networks in New York City, developing proposals that address social justice, sustainability, and public safety. During my internships, I collaborated with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, local communities, and various organizations, gaining valuable experience in interdisciplinary teamwork.
I am deeply passionate about creating livable, sustainable, inclusive, and equitable urban environments, and I am eager to learn from your teams, contributing to the innovative and impactful work, while learning from industry leaders. I believe my background, academic achievements, and professional experiences will enable me to bring unique perspectives and valuable skills to your organization.
