Ersan worked full-time as an Architectural Designer at KPF’s New York office for 1 year 4 months. Ersan studied Master of Architecture at Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture in New York and got awarded the AIA Medal for Academic Excellence by graduating top-ranked student. He graduated class of 2020 at TED University, Bachelor of Architecture as top-ranked student among the Faculty of Architecture + Design. Ersan worked full-time during the summer of 2022 as the Governors Island Research Graduate Assistant to the Pratt SoA Graduate Architecture and Urban Design Chair David Erdman + Jing Liu. Ersan has been a recipient of the Thom Mayne Young Architects Teaching Fellowship. He was previously educated in the International Bachelorette (IB) Program with High-Level Physics & High-Level Mathematics at TED Ankara College. Pratt SoA selected Ersan to study at the Architectural Association Visiting School New York with a full scholarship; while still working to organize the AA VSNY on Governors Island during the summer of 2021 when he was working as the Graduate Gallery Assistant at the Pratt SoA Public Gallery Residency on GI, NY. His Bachelor of Architecture Thesis Project was in the 2021 Archiprix International Biennale Competition representing TED University. Ersan further studied topics relating to his undergraduate thesis - first instructed by his professors, Berin Gür (TED University + Visiting Scholar at Cornell University), Heves Beseli, and Duygu Tuntas on “Architectures of Assemblages” - in Pratt SoA with theory courses taught by Sanford Kwinter, Manuel DeLanda & Gokhan Kodalak. With his partner Nikolas Shamrell, Ersan won the 2022 Pratt SoA Designer-Maker Model Making First Prize. Their Integrated Studio Project, “Fractured Navy Yard Assemblage,” instructed by Fabian Llonch, had industry-leading Mechanical, M.E.P, and Structural Engineers as consultant instructors. Ersan edited Inprocess 26 Book with Prisilia Suwuh & Pratt SoA Archives. Ersan is a retired professional ballroom dancer, dancing since the age of 9, for seven years, in global competitions by WDSF and national championships in Turkey. With the Exchange Program at TED Ankara College, Ersan lived in Canada during 10th grade. With the Erasmus+ Program at TED University, Ersan lived in Krakow, Poland; studied at the Politechnika Krakowska; during his third-year undergraduate spring 2019 project. The Jury Award from the Yaktas Competition in Istanbul, in Jan 2020, in the form of a Europe Research Travel Scholarship, was converted to support his move to New York one year later.
