Rodolfo Argote is the director of RA+, an architecture and urbanism office in the Tijuana/San Diego cross-border region, director of Plankton - Ocean Plastic Upcycle, a company that produces hybrid mosaics made from recycled plastic and cement, director of SALAA, a non-profit organization for the exploration and debate of the possibilities of architecture for creating new worlds, collaborator in the Torolab collective, and occasionally a professor at Ibero Tijuana and the Escuela Libre de Arquitectura.
He has organized and co-curated several urban intervention events, such as Bordofarms (2015), an initiative that aimed to employ deported individuals through an urban agriculture project along the Tijuana river canal, the Weltstadt exhibition (2018), which took place simultaneously in Tijuana and San Diego in collaboration with the Goethe Institut, Park-ing day in Tijuana (2021, 2022, 2023), an urban exercise that involved taking over several parking spaces and turning them into parklets for the day, (2019-2024) CC-TJ1 an urban circuit for pedestrians and cyclists that connects the main neighborhoods near downtown Tijuana with the San Ysidro International Border in collaboration with IMPLAN, CDT, the municipal and state governments, "Mover la ciudad" Collective - Ocupamos el SITT (2023), an event conceived as a protest that intervened twelve abandoned bus stations to turn them into exhibition spaces for cultural projects. (2024) Tijuana lead of Arts and Culture in the Direct Action Network program for the Tijuana/San Diego World Design Capital. (2024) Jury member for the first Orchids & Onions architecture awards edition that included both sides of the Tijuana/San Diego border. (2024) Coordinator of “Taller C” a collaborative effort between the top architecture schools of Tijuana and CDT (Consejo de Desarrollo Económico de Tijuana) to generate strategic projects for the city.
