Hello! 

My name is Parris & I’m an incredible cook, an avid book-lover, and most importantly, a passionate architectural designer. Recognized for creative problem solving, adaptability, and tenacious work ethic; I’ve gained work experience in developing schematic design concepts, researching local codes, preparing detailed drawings and providing construction administration. I’ve collaborated to create multiple high end multifamily residential and commercial buildings in the east bay. Skilled in Autodesk Revit & the Adobe suite.

RESIDENTIAL KITCHEN RENOVATION
• Researched California residential code & type V construction to identify & address design constraints.
• Communicated with Berkeley’s building department plan checkers to resolve plan check comments and secure building permit.
• Researched & organized project materials & product cut sheets for finish, plumbing & electrical schedules.
• Supported project architect in client meetings with renderings to discuss design options.

HEALTHCARE CLINIC
• Supported the project architect, leading to the successful completion of a 3,500 square foot women’s healthcare clinic.
• Single handedly developed the Revit model providing site context, existing & new construction phases.
• Drew the full drawing set necessary for client presentation, building permitting, and construction documents.
• Supported the project architect during quality control site visits and information sourcing during weekly project team meetings to shorten response time.
• Reviewed and responded to submittals and RFIs using Adutodesk Conctrustion Cloud to ensure project schedule deadlines.

MIXED USE RESIDENTIAL
• Assisted in design of 14 unit, 17,000 sf mixed use residential building, type V construction.
• Employed California’s density bonus law to provide additional affordable housing units.
• Assisted in production of Revit model & drawing set to complete City of Oakland’s planning & zoning review process.
• Produced photo-realistic renderings using Enscape and Photoshop for convenient representation in community meetings.
• Built 1/8” scale model for design critique and display.

DESIGN COMPETITION - CULTURAL CENTER
• Researched ways to incorporate local materials into design elements leading to the use of sisal fibers, an agave fabric bi-product, to create sun shades for comfortable outdoor spaces.
• Presented team with site condition research & city landmarks of Oaxaca, Mexico to select the most appropriate site for an agave cultural center.
• Developed site model in Rhinoceros using sketch-up’s geolocation to obtain accurate topography without site survey.
