I am young architect working between disciplines of design, art + exhibition. I have worked on projects based in Dublin, London, Tokyo and Brussels ranging from domestic works, cultural buildings, + urban design to exhibition, scenography and installations. Currently based in London, I have worked with David Leech Architects on various domestic projects in both Ireland + the UK. I have studied architecture in Dublin and Aarhus, receiving the AGA Arup Gold Medal for Architecture at UCD, graduating at the top of my class with a Master in Architecture in 2022.
Since graduating, I have co-produced two exhibitions - Broken Stones (2022) + The Marvelous as We Know it (2023) - for the AATE Festival in Galway. Most recently, I became a founding member of new design collective, Rubble, who were invited to work in Dublin Port (funded by UCD + Dublin Port) exploring the contemporary city, material circularity and placemaking through research, workshops + built intervention. Following this workshop, we have been commissioned an Irish Architectural Foundation programme which highlights + supports emerging architects.
Most recently, I have received the Architectural Bursary Award 2024 from the Irish Arts Council which will allow me to carry out research on coastal infrastructures along the Dunmore East Cliff Walk in Ireland. I have also been selected as a fellow of the European LINA Community, a network of architectural organisations, groups + collectives exploring climate action focused design.
My approach to design is craft-based, while stretching the meaning of craft to encompass contemporary technologies, aesthetics + construction techniques. Combined, layered processes of model-making, collage, narrative building + physical construction drive my practice. I have a particular love for graphics + through an iterative process of testing + experimenting I have developed a constructive approach to spatial practice.
