About

My name is Chris Lazarou (Christos Ermis Lazarou). I grew up in Thessaloniki, Greece, where I still reside to this day. I recently finished my Integrated Masters in Architecture from the Technical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Apart from studying, I am passionate about organizing architectural education trips inside and outside of Greece. Architectural theory and semiotics are also some of my main interests. For many years I have broadcasted on Greek press and social platforms my theories and ideas on the connection between populism and the, now hugely prevalent, contemporary anonymous architecture in Greece, and my vision on a "Post-Postmodern" type of architecture (or Meta architecture) fit for a civilization that tries to re-embrace the sentimentality, meaningfulness and religiosity of the pre-Modern and pre-Enlightenment civilizations and cement the technological, scientific and social milestones of the Modern and the Postmodern world.

To conclude, I need to add that for some years now, I have been trying to enter the industry of cinema as a, now independent, director by trying to create short or full feature films and documentaries focused on architecture. I am basically trying to create 2D animated films that would combine the aesthetics of Moebius and Katsuhiro Otomo with the mockumentary-ish fiction of Jacques Tati.

Education

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloníki, GR, Masters, Architecture

My path inside the School of Architecture in A.U.Th. was not always right, nor wrong, but, I can say it was interesting.
