Growing up in Buffalo New York, Wyatt moved to New York City in 2019 to pursue an under graduate degree in architecture at the City College of New York. His interests for Architecture and Urban Design have grown from an urge to positively impact people’s lives. Through built forms he creates spaces that directly influence the potential of fostering co-relationships between the three spheres of human life; industry, home, and leisure. Through his practice he designs structures to fit within urban environments and use memory and participation to steward new relationships between the customarily separated spheres of life. His skills in engaging, listening, and innovating drive his projects to embody a deep sense of empathy and wonder within people as they engage the environment. His background in construction atones to the consciousness of his designs to be environmentally responsible through resource management and finding informal solutions that achieve design excellence through responsive design.
The City University of New York (CUNY) Planning and Construction Management, New York, NY, US, Intern
While working within the planning department at CUNY a team of interns conducted occupational studies and reports. These reports included data analysis of the occupied workspaces within each of the departments at the CUNY office buildings through annotated drawings and accompanying graphics. Additionally, Interns proposed solutions to the observed underutilization and presented these the Chancellor of CUNY through an additional series of drawings.
7 Construction, North Tonawanda, NY, US, Carpenter
During the summer while Covid was still keeping work and school heavily restricted. I took on my own educational journey of construction. My supervisor on the job quickly recognized my position as someone who understood architecture in a technical way but was less adept in the methods of construction. I was then brought through all phases of construction as a carpenter and would work closely with partners through each phase so that at the end of my summer explain each phase of construction in detail from receiving drawings to packing up the vans.
Clark Patterson Lee, Buffalo, NY, US, Intern
During a two-week summer internship, I spent my days shadowing firm members
from the Civil Engineers, Junior Architects, Lead Architects, and Principal Architects. During that time, I attended construction meetings, site visits, client meetings, and staff meetings, while also pursuing a self-led design charrette for community center which was presented to the firm at the end of my two weeks.
