About

Hi.  My name is Michael Garig. I haven’t applied for a job in many years, but I humbly have excellent and relevant skills to the job posting your company provided on Craigslist. I’ve come to a place in my life where I am interested in working at a place that values their employees, fosters a family like environment among its employees and wants to do good in the world.  And of course, I’d like to be making a decent salary.  I have a full family life that I want to enjoy more, and owning your own business(es) is not conducive to that endeavor.  I’m very optimistic and while I value the understanding of who did what wrong, I always focus on how the problem will get resolved in the best way for all parties involved. I’m a real crowd pleaser in that I love making things work for everyone and I know how to do it in most instances.

As you will find out, I own a boutique interior design firm that I started 17 years ago. I also opened a small furniture and home accessories brick and mortar store 9 years ago. I am extremely motivated and learn new things quickly. I have done a lot of work on my own, and definitely welcome the chance to work on a larger team.

I’ve dabbled in many things over the last decade but am looking for a new place to call home as it pertains to work. I am really hoping you will find my experience compelling enough to consider giving me an in person interview.

Online, you can find my store at www.influenthome.com, which is also the only website I have for my interior design.  I’ve not promoted my interior design over the years as I’ve always had work based on word of mouth.  Some examples of my work have been posted on instagram and houzz.com if you want to do some sleuthing there. None of my work has been professionally photographed and all pictures are taken by myself or a good friend with a decent camera!

I sincerely hope to hear from you and look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,

Michael Garig

M. Garig, Inc., Berkeley, CA, US, Owner/ President

Just before the market crash of 2008, I started an interior design business using my extensive network of vendors and subs to provide beautifully designed bathroom and kitchen remodels to residential clients in the San Francisco Bay Area. I quickly expanded into larger home remodels redesigning homes and specifying finishes for whole homes, as well as furnishing many of those homes. While I did the largest part of this alone, I hired a second interior designer in 2015.
