From 25 years in private practice as both an architect, nationally certified and licensed in multiple states, and a licensed interior designer, he has worked in various capacities, as Project Manager, Architect-of-Record, Business Owner, Owner’s Representative, and VP of Development. He also served over 12 years in the private sector, as Project Manager and Director of Design and Construction at the University of South Florida, managing a portfolio of over $375-m in annual construction. He has earned a Bachelor of Architecture and an MBA specializing in
Project Management and is a LEED Accredited Professional, having been involved in over 15 projects certified by the USGBC. He has presented at several national conferences and also authored a book on project management.
Steve has personally managed individual projects (many of them award-winning) ranging from $5,000 to well over $500 million in construction cost and spanning almost every type of project delivery and financing structure. This experience has resulted in an uncommon wisdom: a broad business sense, an acute sensibility towards design and the ability to create a powerful synergy when working with a terrific team.
Steve is passionate about every project undertaken, focusing on unique opportunities to create environments that facilitate impacts upon people’s lives. His successes have been through a deep internal commitment to excellence, sensitivity to relationships, and a design philosophy that is centered on the users of the project rather than the project itself.
