I am Alan Rosas, of Aztec heritage, born and raised in Queens, NY. My passions intersect design, arts, technology, history and community engagement. Currently pursuing a degree in architecture with a minor in film and video, I am committed to fostering effective communication and research with leaders across various fields.
My overarching objective is to act as a catalyst for positive change by leveraging my multifaceted skill set. I envision a collaborative network of like-minded individuals dedicated to shaping a brighter future.

NYSCA Grant Work – Water Ways: Waterway Finding Sculptures, Troy, NY, US, Designer/Artist, Research Assistant, and Fabrication Assistant
• Collaboration with professor Christianna Bennett: Lead Designer, Project Lead
• Water Ways introduces wayfinding sculptures in Troy, guiding residents to local water sources like the Tomhannock Reservoir and Lansingburgh Reservoir. An illuminated 6-7 foot wooden structure, inspired by indigenous 'thong trees,' through the fusion of art and education aims to heighten awareness of environmental stewardship.

• Reviewed and evaluated student essays to assess comprehension and proficiency levels.
• Offered constructive feedback on student writing, emphasizing clarity and effectiveness in communicating research and design ethics concepts.

• Directed iterations of a plant-based air filtration module system in collaboration with designers and stakeholders.
• Created comprehensive 3D printing software and hardware tutorials for incoming program students.
HSMSE Discovery Program, New York, NY, US, Volunteer
The Discovery Program offers opportunities for disadvantaged students who scored within a certain range on the SHSAT to attend a testing Specialized High School starting the following fall.
• Collaborated closely with incoming freshmen, providing mentorship and guidance to ease their transition into specialized high school life, while also offering tutoring support to middle schoolers through the KAPLAN program to prepare them for the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test.
• Assistance and coordination in designing and organizing the academic year structure for the freshmen drafting course focusing on teaching basic skills in Autodesk software.
