About

I am a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) student at Cal Poly Pomona with a focus on sustainable design. My interests include building performance evaluations, passive design strategies, and the impact of embodied and operational carbon. Additionally, I am drawn to the management side of architecture, aiming to help reduce project stress and minimize losses in the future.

I have hands-on experience with design and analysis tools such as Revit, Bluebeam, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, IESVE Energy Modeling, Cove.tool, Ladybug Tools (for Grasshopper sustainability analysis), and OpenStudio (Revit energy analysis plugin).

My passion for sustainable design can be seen throughout all my projects. For example, my Urban Community project utilizes a north/south orientation to allow for passive design strategies such as night flushing and internal heat gain. The walkways and overhangs are positioned so that the winter sunlight hits the exposed stone pavers. These pavers are locally sourced and add a nice texture to the interior dining area. The internal heat gain and night flushing cover both the winter and summer months to make the units less dependent on mechanical systems. The cladding on the walls facing the courtyard is made with re-used studs from the torn-down previous building which helps incorporate adaptive reuse and lowers the embodied carbon while making a more personalized space.

Employment

USGBC California Green Building Corps, Los Angeles, CA, US, Intern

I recently started my internship and am excited to deepen my knowledge and build connections in the field of sustainable design and environmental activism. During this experience, I aim to learn:

- Real-world sustainable building strategies
- How sustainability can pencil out and save money, both short and long term
- Environmentally responsible construction practices

I look forward to applying these skills to contribute meaningfully to sustainable projects and environmental initiatives.
