Hello,
My name is William Beal and I am a recent graduate student from the AAP program at Cornell University, achieving my M.Arch. degree. I have had a strong interest in architecture and its transformative power for a very long time and I have always felt a strong connection to the built environment.
As a designer, I believe architects are stewards of change and that innovation within the field of architecture and careful execution within the design process generate potential possibilities in combatting societal issues surrounding both the global north and the global south. Issues such as climate change, inequality both monetarily and in quality of life, pollution, excessive sprawl, and ecosystem destruction are all issues I wish to combat effectively through my designs. Therefore, I desire to gain more experience through the practice of architecture to fulfill my true purpose as an architect in the 21st century.
My academic work reflects my talent in designing highly detailed explorations, which all attempt to provide solutions to the complex nature of a site’s history, culture, and its own unique problems and attributes. I believe architects have the ability to provide possible solutions to many of the issues surrounding our current time and this belief has always motivated my work ethic.
