Woodbury University, Burbank, CA, US, Architecture
At Pasadena City College, this program lasts for two years. The course covered everything from basic digital tools like AutoCAD, Grasshopper, Vray and Rhinoceros to model-making and analog drawings. By experimenting with façade and pavilion designs, we investigated materials and their properties. Michael Cranfill taught us a lot about the theory and history of architecture, and our projects integrated and prioritized the development of models and drawings that exemplified the main concepts of earlier works that we had studied and interpreted.

The program places a strong emphasis on the impact of humans and designers on the environment. For the homeless population in Los Angeles, we developed ideas like ADUs with a twist or reimagined how to create and utilize existing spaces like parking garages or rooftops. Creating not only livable spaces but also compact economic engines such as rooftop gardens and farm to table restaurants. The briefs were always challenging in terms of how we as designers think about the built environment.
