Austin Henry Richards is an architectural designer and researcher from and based in Southern California. He graduated with honors from the California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, with a Bachelor of Architecture. 

After his studies, he practiced in Los Angeles with Chet Architecture, an award-winning residential and interior design studio. As a project designer, he contributed to the development of diverse residential and commercial projects and was the lead designer for a coastal family residence. He was chosen by l’Académie d'Architecture to research collective living as an architect-in-residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. This residency culminated in the project and exhibition, Living Together

He is currently open to opportunities in learning with and working for an architectural practice. He is looking for full-time roles in Los Angeles and is open to remote work.

l'Académie d’Architecture Architect-in-Residence, Award

Architect-in-Residence through l'Académie d’Architecture at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Research on collective living culminated in an exhibition and project, "Living Together."


Cavin Family Traveling Fellowship, 2nd Place

2nd prize in the Cavin Family Traveling Fellowship, a 4-day competition for a research grant.


Precast Concrete Institute Studio, 3rd Place

3rd prize in Cal Poly Pomona Architecture's precast concrete studio, sponsored by the Precast Concrete Institute, PCI West.
