Sinam Hawro Yakoob is a New York based Iraqi-German architect and creative. She joined the Bjarke Ingels Group as a designer in 2022 with a focus on planning and construction. She has most recently been contributed to the design of "Toyota Woven City", the world’s first urban incubator at the foothills of Mount Fuji in Japan.
Born in Erbil, Iraq, Sinam received her bachelor's and master's degree from RWTH University Aachen, where she was awarded the Springorium Commemorative Coin for her Thesis "The Heritage of Erbil". She strives to connect her knowledge and heritage from both her Eastern roots and Western influences, infusing her work with a distinct sense of cultural synthesis and harmonious design. She believes that all spaces deserve to be designed with integrity and sensitivity, including in the humanitarian contexts. Through collaborations with governmental organizations and NGOs, she has utilized her architectural expertise to envision and create vital facilities in refugee camps internationally.
