I am Yinghao, a graduate student at UCLA. My passion for architecture and visualization is rooted in the belief that it is a discipline that involves a complex web of relationships between people, society, and representation. I am fascinated by how different representation mediums can shape our understanding of buildings and spaces, and how they can enrich our experiences of them. Through my exploration of these relationships, I have come to appreciate the additional value that good representation can bring to a design, as well as its ability to nurture the design process itself. On this page, you will find examples of my work that showcase my commitment to exploring these ideas and creating designs that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Kilograph, Los Angeles, CA, US, Junior 3D Artist
Modeled and visualized architectural scenes using 3Ds Max, V-Ray, and Unreal Engine. With specialization in Generative AI tools (Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, Runway Gen-3, etc.), I integrated AI into 3D pipelines by developing generative model workflows and instructing the team on AI utilities.
MADA s.p.a.m., Los Angeles, CA, US, Architectural Intern
Assisted in the completion of pre-schematic drawings, test fits, and site plans for residential projects and help to create, revise, and refine drawings, graphics, 3D models and renderings to be used in client deliverables.
Sino-Sun, Beijing, CN, Assistant
Supported the team in 3D modeling, visualization, motion graphics, film and animation. Incorporated with the team to archive files and research papers to optimize the retrieval of important documents.
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, CA, US, Masters, M.S.AUD
My Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design at UCLA built upon my prior education and allowed me to explore the intersections between architecture, urban design, and planning. The program provided a rigorous education that emphasized research, design, and critical thinking.
Throughout the program, I engaged with cutting-edge design concepts and practices, exploring the ways in which architecture and urban design can address contemporary social, environmental, and economic challenges. I also had the opportunity to work on a variety of design projects that addressed issues ranging from housing and transportation to public space and community development.
One of the unique aspects of the program was the opportunity to collaborate with students from other disciplines, including urban planning and landscape architecture. This interdisciplinary approach helped me broaden my perspective and develop a more holistic understanding of the built environment.
In addition to studio work, I took courses in research methods, history and theory of architecture and urbanism, and advanced design software and visualization tools. These courses helped me develop a strong foundation in the theoretical and practical aspects of architecture and urban design.
University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, CA, US, BArch, B.Arch
During my Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) studies at the University of Southern California (USC), I had the opportunity to delve deeper into my passion for architecture and explore a wide range of design concepts and theories. The program provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of architecture, including design thinking, construction techniques, and sustainable design practices.
In addition to the core curriculum, I also took courses that focused on representation and the use of different mediums to communicate design ideas effectively. I developed a strong foundation in a variety of software and visualization tools, including AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, which allowed me to create detailed and compelling representations of my designs.
Throughout my studies, I was able to collaborate with a diverse group of students and faculty members, which helped me broaden my perspective and think creatively about architecture. I participated in several studio projects where I had the opportunity to work on a range of design challenges, from residential housing to public spaces, which allowed me to develop my skills as a designer and think critically about the role of architecture in shaping the built environment.
Overall, my B.Arch education at USC provided me with a strong foundation in both the technical and creative aspects of architecture, and I am excited to continue exploring and contributing to this field.
