About

Coco Reynolds established Marz Designs in 2010 to reflect a passion for working with elemental materials and the marriage of craft practice with industrial process. Reynolds began her career as an industrial designer and has subsequently worked professionally across a range of design-related disciplines.

Opening Marz Designs as an independent practice in Byron Bay allowed Reynolds access to the many local artisans that now contribute their craft to products, as well as the opportunity to connect with a network of talented designers that now form the Marz Designs team. The success of our studio is contingent upon these relationships and the many hands that combine to make one light.

All Marz Designs products are designed in the studio, and
we work with various makers, glassblowers, ceramicists, and timber turners to develop and produce components that are then hand-assembled and packaged in Byron Bay.

We’re passionate about the collaborative process and value the many hands that work together, in equally pivotal ways, to ensure our concepts adhere to our clear sense of contemporary aesthetics, as well as our philosophies of longevity and thoughtful consumption. Marz Designs encourages the long-term care of our products, all of which are made to order, not made en masse.

Marz Designs is driven by sustainability and are proud to announce that we are members of the One Tree Planted program which supports global reforestation. While we incorporate as many eco-friendly practices into our manufacturing and packaging processes as possible, we understand that we are a long way from where we need to be. We are continually striving to support and do more for our environment by repurposing packaging materials from suppliers, reducing our plastic waste in our supply chain and our omission of any plastic packaging.
