My passion for architecture began when I was around 10 years old. Since then I managed to land a job as intern at a firm in my home country of Trinidad and Tobago. During my time there I studied for the SAT and gained a scholarship and acceptance to Florida International University’s Master of Architecture program.

My professional experience lasted about 9 months prior to starting my degree, during which time I worked on residential and commercial projects, both including new constructions and renovations; I participated in conceptual and design phases, as well as planning and construction phases. In my second-to-last semester of university I started my current position as a student researcher in the Architecture Department’s Robotics and Digital Fabrication Lab, during which I’ve furthered my software skills and ability to work with a team.

With my graduation at the end of April 2022, I’m eager to pursue a job in a professional office as an architectural designer. I intend to study for the ARE’s while working with the hope of becoming licensed within 3 years. My passion for the environment and the fact that we as architects have a huge role to play in the development of society also compels me to take the LEED Green Associate Exam.
