I am a passionate 5th year architecture student attending Tulane University's five-year Bachelor of Architecture program. I am looking for a full time position at an architecture firm in the greater New York City area where I will be living after graduation this spring.
Tecton Architects, Hartford, CT, US, Architectural Intern
I was an intern for the summers of 2018, 2019 and 2021. I created renderings and diagrams of projects for client presentation using Enscape, Vray, Adobe Suite, Revit, AutoCad, and SketchUp. I also assisted with construction documents, accompanied project managers on numerous under-construction site visits, and created physical models.
2MO, New York, NY, US, Project Manager Intern
Worked on cost estimation for future and ongoing projects including material pricing and the creation of spreadsheets for clients. Assisted with on site project photoshoots, researched marketing and survey tools, and created renderings using modeling Rhino and photoshop.
Tulane University, New Orleans, LA, US, BArch, 5 Year Bachelor of Architecture
In the first two years of school, I engaged in intensive design foundation studios centered on understanding space and how to design space, in addition to other classes that focused on the history of architecture.
The third year introduced building methods and materials applications to design principles, incorporating structure, ventilation, passive heating and cooling strategies, etc., into studio projects.
In my fourth year, I participated in a year-long design-build research studio called UrbanBuild, where with a team of students, I collaborated in the design of a low-income family home that we then built from the ground up in Central City, New Orleans.
In the first semester of my fifth year, I worked alongside my peers in an ongoing research studio, with design focused in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. After researching issues related to flooding, lack of connectivity, and facilities, pollution, etc, we designed interventions that built greater ecological and economic resiliency along the Upper Kabana River, which runs through the city.
I am now in the midst of my thesis project, which focuses on designing a new type of storm shelter in New Orleans that capitalizes on the unused space left behind by highway infrastructure, creating new and necessary connections in the city.
Lisbon Triennale Millennium bcp Universities Competition Award, Nomination
Nominated for Addis Ababa River City Research Studio Project:
Universities are critical centres for the production of knowledge and innovation. Since the inception of the Triennale we have involved these institutions in the programme of each edition of its most emblematic event. As such, we invite schools from all over the world to participate in a transverse perspective of possible cooperation. The Millennium bcp Lisbon Triennale Universities Competition Award is part of the central programme for the 6th edition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale to take place in the Autumn of 2022.
The competition is open directly to the field of architecture and also to its related disciplines, whether these are project oriented - such as urbanism or landscape architecture - technical - such as construction or material technologies - or multidisciplinary - such as urban sociology or environmental studies. We seek proposals of various project typologies, intended to be of an architectural response or with the potential for practical development.
For the first time, the award assumes two levels of participation through Master’s Degree programmes and also Research programmes. The aim is to stimulate individual and collective participation in the production of knowledge in, for and on architecture.
