My name is Israel Ruiz,
I am a student for Kennesaw State University. Due to financial reasons, It has been a very slow progress with my architectural career. However, I have been building and trying to design since I was little, and I personally find the art of architecture fascinating. I recently found myself taking steps to starting my own family and I have a fire to get my career started. I want to be an architect not only because I want to provide for my future family, but because I want to make an impact as an architect. I want to build to make a difference, and I want to build up to making that difference. I have always been a passionate worker, and always tried to choose jobs that in some way can help me with architecture. I am looking forward to working with anyone who would be willing to take me on.
Thank you.
Home Depot, Multiple Cities , Traveling Merchandising Technician (MET)
Being a MET employee, there is a simplicity that makes the job quite unique. The job can be formulaic while also being creative. Our employers would send us a "project" for us to complete, and it is up to us to determine how the project is to be completed. We have to read planograms (visual CAD of our working area) to determine how they want their projects to look. Depending on the situation, sometimes the instructions given are helpful, and sometimes we have to figure ways to make things work.
PLY GEM WINDOWS, Peachtree City, GA, US , Quality Technician
Quality Technician was the most detailed job I have ever taken a part of. Having to view hundreds of windows every day, ensuring that they meet the qualifications and standards to send to our customers was indeed a unique experience. Mainly being at the time I had NEVER worked in a factory before, or any job for that manner. The fact that somebody took me in and was willing to (patiently) teach me the steps until I could walk on my own was the best experience I could've received at the time. I still had to read CAD designs to ensure the details of the windows were up to standard. Working with MANY different kinds of people and personalities helped me deal with people on another level I would've never learned.
Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, GA, US, BOOKSTORE ASSOCIATE
This job was overall fun for me. Working with students my own age, being able to help a lot of future students, and working with a team was just fun for me overall.
Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, GA, US, Architecture
Studying at Kennesaw State has been a bit of a challenge due to the inconsistency of my attendance for financial reasons. I am currently marked as a sophomore as far as credit hours, taking only a handful of classes in the actual field itself. I will say that the classes I have taken have been spectacular. Learning the formulas of the field, the art, the creativity, the fluidity, the expansion is all amazing to me. I am hoping to make this year one a game changer.
