Virginia De Jorge-Huertas (Madrid 1991) is an architect, researcher and educator; licensed with the Spanish Chamber of Architects.
De Jorge is an architect with Honours, she holds a PhD. in Architecture with Summa Cum Laude and “international mention” from the School of Architecture - University of Alcala, (ETSA-UAH, Madrid). Visiting Researcher at the Architectural Association in London and Visiting Scholar at the Università Iuav di Venezia funded with two traveling research grants of the ‘program FPU’ by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture.
Winner of an ARQUIA scholarship (Caja de Arquitectos Foundation) award for her academic record. 1º Prize for Europan 14. Winner of the 3º prize Schindler. Several prizes and publications (Designing the Future 07, IsArch, Creative Cities Congress) for “Fuencarral PFC” project. Shortlisted in Europan 15 with "Laterza Lievita", among prizes in the intersection of architecture and research. Invited speaker at research national/international meetings. Research and professional work published in several conferences, books, magazines, and refereed journals. Part of the work-team of the Research Project MUWO Women in Spanish (Post)Modern Architecture Culture. Postdoctoral Researcher in Architectural History and Tº at the Università Iuav di Venezia and Archivio Progetti Iuav (2019 - 2020).
