About 

Born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, Michelle Clara is an architectural designer with experience in architecture and journalism. She graduated in October 2019 from Universitas Tarumanagara (UNTAR) with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. She currently graduated from Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design program at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP).

With her hometown at the forefront of her mind, Michelle aspires to gain a deeper understanding of aligning new models in response to new architectural modes of practice, especially in the face of unknown future scenarios within the communities.

Employment

Constructed the framework and structure of the publishing system by evaluating previous publications; curated the final output of the magazine in terms of layout, articles, and contributors involved; published three annual magazines (Atrocity, Living in Between, and Urban Mobility) and one special edition magazine (student work documentation).

Organized the rural tourism planning process from research, on-site learning, design, and handoff; distributed an equal job description to twelve colleagues that were involved in the project and ensured an efficient workflow; coordinated meetings with the locals and on-site learning for a total of two months living with the locals; designed a handbook of Desa Cempaka Rural Tourism Planning as a form of documentation and publication.
