I recently completed my Masters in Architecture at Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan, graduating in May 2022. I have spent the past year and a half working at Stayner Architects in Los Angeles on residential, hospitality, and non-profit participatory work. I am currently working towards licensure, having completed the ARE for practice and project management respectively this fall.
Throughout graduate school, my work emphasized appreciation of the natural environment before designing any built additions to it. Environmental justice, social equity, and specific context are of equal importance in my approach to design. My design process begins with research across cultural, social, economic, and built factors that compose the local context. To me, the most environmentally sustainable buildings are the ones that already exist. Within sustainable design, I am passionate about passive building design, building reuse, and deconstruction. I hope to become a licensed architect, LEED AP, and Living Future Accredited.
