Hi, my name is Grayson Shepard and I am a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin. Projected to graduate in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering.
I want to design meaningful spaces that are both beautiful and functional. Additionally I see architecture as a potential medium in which to promote social equity and environmental justice; to protect and celebrate communities and to help us grow as a society.
In the summer of 2020 I worked as an Architectural Intern for BOKA Powell in Dallas, TX. During this internship I worked on a mixed-use masterplan project, helping to complete a marketing package with visualizations and schematic drawings, specifically concentrating on research and brainstorming about post-pandemic public spaces. Additionally I worked on a Medical Clinic project in design development, assisting with the digital modeling and drawings.
In the previous summer, 2019, I worked as an Architectural Intern for Gensler in Dallas, TX. During this time, I assisted with design development documents and deliverables for a large multi-phase project in downtown Dallas. I was also a part of a historic preservation team that conducted a series of building envelope surveys and reports around Texas and Louisiana.

Through my rigorous study of architecture and engineering I have procured many tools and skills for problem solving through design and have discovered my passion for creating innovative solutions and thinking outside the box. In addition to the foundations of architectural design from conception to construction, I have more importantly learned the great responsibility architects have to the communities they serve.
