Hello!
My name is Curt Budd and I am a fifth-year architecture major at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo poised to graduate in June. Through my education and professional experience I have developed a deep appreciation for architecture’s great disciplinary breadth and am compelled by its intimate connection to human experiences.
During my internships with McGranahan Architects, BCRA Design, and Oyler Wu Collaborative I have been fortunate to work on a wide range of architectural projects, notably, K-12 educational facilities, multi-family residential buildings, and a museum renovation proposal. Working on such projects has given me experience in all phases of design and a diverse set of architectural markets.
In my own studio work, I have aimed to embrace architecture’s multidisciplinary nature by carefully considering human experiences and the construction techniques that may be employed to create them. This is highlighted by my undergraduate thesis which explores aesthetic and technical methods of crafting architecture that responds to and incites awareness of sensitive ecological issues of the anthropogenic age.
