Liyah George is an architect and designer with an interest in design principles grounded to context and culture, and in understanding the relationship between sustainability and architecture both through material detail and urban scale regimes. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, India. She is currently a graduate student at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prior to graduate school, Liyah has worked as an architect at Atkins, Dubai.
During her three years of practice, she has worked with some of the leading architects in the region. She has worked in design teams on medium and large-scale architectural projects and has collaborated with various engineering disciplines, interior designers, and consultants. Her professional experience in Atkins has helped her bridge the gap between design and execution.
