About 

Douglas Hamilton has spent over thirty-five years practicing architecture in New York with some of the city’s top architecture & urban design firms, including EEK Architects, The Rockwell Group, and Street-Works.  Most recently, he was the Design Director of Archilier Architecture (2010-2021).  A 1985 graduate of Columbia University with an MS in Architecture & Urban Design, he is an expert in the analysis, master planning, and design of urban & suburban mixed-use developments and public places with considerable expertise in the residential, retail, entertainment and hospitality sectors.  His projects span North America, China, and other parts of the world.  Notable built work includes Circle Centre Mall & Artsgarden (Indianapolis), Liberty View condos (NYC), Metrotech master plan & commons (Brooklyn), the Walt Disney Family Museum (SF), and McCann-Erickson HQ interiors (NYC).  Archilier’s 5M sf Hai Tian Center (Qingdao) is scheduled for completion in late 2021.  He also captained a team that was one of five finalists in the competition to replace the Port Authority’s Midtown bus terminal.  He is a current member of the Urban Land Institute and a past member of the American Institute of Architects, the Municipal Art Society, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Design & engineering coordination for a variety of projects with a focus on urban mixed-use, hotels & resorts, multi-family residential, office buildings & interiors, retail environments, and transportation infrastructure. Assisted principal with business development (incl RFPs/RFQs); schedules & budgets; zoning, market, & program analyses; public agency coordination & public engagement; staff hiring, retention, and continuing education.
