Inspired by the history and present-day spirit of their locales, Jessica enjoys crafting modern, germane, narrative-driven interiors.
She prioritizes light strength and temperature to direct circulation and partition space. Her schematic and design development then aims to balance simple, geometric forms with freeform structures. She selects healthy and natural materials with subtly rich hand-feels, inquiring sheens and translucency. She emphasizes rhythm through color application.
Active membership with the Female Design Council and Black Folks in Design introduces her to artisans and fabricators across the US creating original, declarative, groundbreaking FFE and furnishings. Her long-established NYC vendors and Global fabricator relationships support code compliant, rapid FFE and furnishing package compilation.
In collaborating with NYC licensed contractors, registered architects, licensed engineers, registered landscape architects, lighting designers and photographers, she effectively draws and challenges construction means and materials. She produces full construction drawings and leads construction administration.
Jessica’s workflows include AutoCAD, Rhino, Enscape, Twinmotion, V-Ray, Adobe photoshop, illustrator, InDesign and physical model making. She is Microsoft Office and Google Suite fluent.
Jessica launched Phantasmagorics in 2022, an NYC-based interior design studio focused on full-scale, high-end residential renovations and commercial fit-outs. Prior to launching Phantasmagorics, she was a member of Studio SSAM, a nimble, 4-person NYC architecture studio, focused on full-scale residential renovations.
Jessica graduated from The New School – Parsons School of Design in 2020 in NYC with an AAS in Interior Design. She earned a BS in Business Administration from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She previously was a private equity fundraiser, first in Paris, France then in New York City.
