Originally, I call the LA County home, but about a decade ago, I made the move to the heart of the city in Koreatown. The reason? I wanted to be closer to the incredible diversity of people, cultures, and landmarks that make LA so unique. It was an opportunity for me to develop my identity beyond my hometown while staying connected to my roots. Currently, I work at a designer showroom in the Pacific Design Center, where I connect designers and workrooms with trimmings, fabrics, and drapery hardware.
I'm a passionate lover of animals and a seeker of new experiences. You can bet that if someone mentions they have a pet, I'm immediately up for a doggy date or house-sitting gig when they're out of town. It's been a fantastic way for me to explore different neighborhoods in LA while giving my furry companion the chance to enjoy new beds and make friends from all walks of life. When I'm not taking care of four-legged friends, I'm often hiking, attending music festivals, and indulging in the incredible variety of cuisines that LA has to offer.
My short term goal is to share my work with friends and potential employers, allowing them to witness my design expertise and envision the trajectory I know I'm capable of. My dream is to gain recognition from a leading design firm so I can actively contribute to the exciting projects I see flowing through my workplace daily. I've learned that if you can't land your dream job right away, it's crucial to get as close as possible to those who have it. By working in an adjacent industry, I aim to network and secure a position that allows me to harness my creativity and further develop the skills needed to collaborate with the designers I admire. One day, I hope to leverage my knowledge and connections to open my own design firm, Renard Noir Designs. And who knows? Maybe I'll end up working with top celebrity clients and having a design style that's sought after around the world.
