Hello, I am Yeawon Min.
In June of 2020, I finished the Master Architecture 2 graduate program at UCLA lead by Jeffrey Inaba , David Jimenez, and Gillian Shaffer. Bachelor's degree has been completed at Ewha Woman's University in South Korea. During my masters program, I've majored in Urban design analyzing the urban features of LA. This allowed me a better understanding of LA even though I am from South Korea. My strengths are fast adaptation, starting from new environments, technology, and workflow. Especially as a starting designer, the critical aspect that can benefit the firm and the current designers, my ability to blend in, and communicate easily with clients and co-workers makes me an asset when choosing an applicant for this position.
Software-wise I am comfortable with Rhinoceros, AutoCAD, Adobe programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Grasshopper. Basic knowledge when it comes to Maya, Revit, and Sketchup. However, depending on the firm's software preference, I can catch up and quickly learn the skills I need. Hardware-wise, I have been workshop employees during masters degree, have been trained to use CNC routers, laser cutters, and 3D printers, and comfortable with most woodshop tools such as table saws and more. Language-wise, my mother tongue is Korean. My English level is a graduate academic level with no problem with everyday communication. I did not require additional English supplementary classes during my academic year at UCLA.
Work-wise, I am very well known within the various environments for communication skills and the ability to form excellent teamwork. Since my bachelor's degree, I have always been invited to group works and have been numerous times playing a crucial role, such as the leader of the student projects. One of the examples would be being voted as the student representative during the master's degree at UCLA. The ability to interact and read the studio's atmosphere makes me an asset to the firm, the most distinctive feature compared to other applicants.
