Christine Restaino, R.A. is the founding principal of C R + D Z ARCHITECTURE + INTERIOR DESIGN an architecture and design firm headquartered in New York City with unique residential and commercial projects located worldwide.  The firm was established in 1986 by Ms. Restaino, a registered architect in the state of NY and an honor graduate of the prestigious Cooper Union School of Architecture.  Her background also includes studies in Fine Art.

Ms. Restaino’s professional experience is a fusion of technical and aesthetic accomplishments.  Areas of expertise include contemporary high-end residential and commercial architecture and interior design as well as historic restoration.  Projects incorporate singular architectural detailing in wood, metal, glass and concrete; finishes and materials development; lighting design; landscape design as well as artwork placement / selection and display.  Envisioning and creating special art locations within an architectural space to create dramatic focal points, and incorporating art directly into architectural features are themes often repeated  with many variations in her built projects.

The firm’s philosophy is to realize the fullest potential of a space, building or physical site in creating an architectural solution to each client’s particular needs.  Through explorations of architectural form and function, structure and details, materials and color, light and space, the firm’s projects are developed with a strong commitment to the art of architecture.

Notable projects include the design of private residences in New York City, Miami, Palm Beach, Florida, Ohio, Nantucket, Dublin, Ireland and Bucharest, Romania as well as the interior designs for the Glenn Horowitz Bookseller  gallery and the Ameringer Yohe Fine Art gallery in New York.

In addition, the firm is launching GIZMO MODERN, a line of products created for the home; a dynamic and visionary collection of furniture, furnishings, functional objects & objet d’art designed to elegantly fill gaps in the design product marketplace.
