About

Kate is an aspiring architect in New York. She received her BA in Mathematics at Swarthmore College in 2012, with a thesis on fractal theory and its application in art. After managing production and sales for Rigel Stuhmiller in Berkeley, CA, she worked for TAI+LEE architects in Pittsburgh, PA. Kate then received a Masters of Architecture at Columbia GSAPP, where she worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Architectural Technology department, as a Research and Design Assistant for the GSAPP Housing Lab, and as a monitor in the makerspace.

Kate is a recipient of the 2020 Percival Goodman Fellowship, for karbonfunkc.io, a project tracing the flows of climate finance behind carbon offsets, and exposing the financial colonialism of the emissions trading industry.

Kate's academic architectural work uses data to design infrastructural systems that respond to changing climatic conditions.
