About

Design is my passion, I love solving a good space planning puzzle and finding the perfect piece for just the right space.

I love interacting with people, clients and co-workers alike. I am a hard worker and I want to work in an atmosphere of fun and productivity.

In my previous positions I have been involved with a few different areas of the design world. I worked for a high end furniture showroom where I helped select finishes for clients and also worked with new construction on residential and commercial projects. I developed great skills while working here; product ordering, billing, job management and sales just to name a few.

When I opened my own company I used these skills to help bring in my own clients and be able to provide them a well rounded service.

We recently moved to Las Vegas and I worked for a Design Build company. This was such a great learning experience. I gained so much knowledge while working here as was also able to sharpen many skills from my previous experience. I learned more about each step of the building process and was able to spend time out in the field on the job site. I also became more familiar with the design style for this area and products that are typically used here. I further improved my technical knowledge of commonly used drafting and modeling programs.

I love working in this field and I am hoping to bring all my experience with me to a new position and elevate a new company to a higher level.

Blue Heron, Las Vegas, NV, US, Interior Designer

Blue heron
I met with new clients to go over the Community construction design process. I would design homes with included and custom program finishes; including: flooring, bath and tile surrounds, cabinet configurations, electrical/low voltage, ect. I would also participate in construction site walks/inspections, for example, before slab is poured, framing walk to ensure all aspects of the design are being executed properly, pre-drywall to check on electrical placements, ect. I would coordinate with pool and landscape/hardscape contractors to meet with clients. I would manage the client’s budget for the home between interiors and any other outside contract work that is being done. I would also collaborate with other designers on projects they were working on. I also completely reconstructed out materials library and created a spread sheet with all samples, their info and cost.

Allen Design Company, Rigby, ID, US, Interior Designer/Principal

I started the Allen Design Company after working for Classic Interiors. I would go to client meetings, space plan, draft, research design styles and ideas. I would also purchase product and meet with sales reps. I created design boards highlighting the ideas and products I’ve chosen for clients, which helped in their decision making process.

Classic Interiors, Idaho, Interior Designer

Classic Interiors is a design/furniture showroom in Idaho Falls. As one of the designers there I learned how to set up and stage new product, work on a team of 2-4 designers, sell and order product, measure for installation of carpet, cabinets, ect, and much more. I worked on many residential and commercial design projects and traveled outside of our area to help with installations. In my first year there, I sold over $500,000 worth of product from our store. I learned so much while working here that I was able to use that information to start my own small business, the Allen Design Company.
