Yijin considers design as the most effective way to elevate the spontaneity of everyday lived experience positively. Striving to bridge the gap between comfort and aesthetics, intuition and rationale, concept and practicality, she believes every project should start with playfulness as it is the driving force of the creative spirit, yet end with seriousness. Rather than conforming to the pre-established convention of good taste, she proposes a narrative of spatial sequences that focuses on the interrelation between objectivity, spaces, subjectivity and concepts as a way to recapture all the wonderful enthusiasm and the spirit of discovery we experience as children and provides the potential to develop individuality and free thinking.
