Tanvi Halde is a graduate from Iowa State University and she pursued a dual-degree in the Community and regional planning and Urban Design.
With her knowledge Urban Planning and Urban designing she strives to be a place-maker with unique sketch-noting skills who can re-imagine and re-vitalize public spaces and create new sustainable communities. As a student, Tanvi has worked on Comprehensive planning, Land-use, streetscape design guidelines and transit-oriented development projects. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Academy of Architecture in her hometown Mumbai, India. As an Architect she has worked on residential redevelopment and mixed-used projects focusing on building construction and building design.
Currently at Des Moines MPO, she assists in data collection, analysis, creating GIS maps, graphics and visuals. She is currently working on Housing Trust Fund for Central Iowa and updating the Bicycle Trails maps in Iowa.

1) Analyzed Census data to update the charts and diagrams for the Mobilizing Tomorrow Plan FY 2020-2025.
2) Utilizing programs such as ArcGIS, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Excel to analyze data and publish reports.
3) Examining the existing data for Model Bicycle ordinance and updating with new information. Analyzed data for Complete street policies for MPO region by referring to the NACTO urban bikeway design guide. Created visual graphics and GIS maps for Data Bike report 2019.
4) Assisted in CDBG grant approval and inspection for sewer infrastructure update in Melcher-Dallas, Iowa.
5) Attended meetings along with the board members to form the Central Iowa Housing Trust Fund. Surveyed for the inspection process and hiring the Housing inspector for the allocation of grants and funds through coordinating with existing trust funds in Iowa. Created Logo and maintained the website for the Central Iowa Housing Trust Fund.
6) Assisted the team with presentations, creating posters and arranging public open house for Long range transportation planning. Actively attended the DMAMPO technical committee meeting, executive meeting and policy meeting catering to funding, LRTP, water trails, storm water and speaker series.
7) Created GIS maps and interactive maps for the public to enable editing features for wildlife management area in DMAMPO region.

Awarded for international fieldwork to collect data for graduate thesis and
demonstrating interest in civic engagement through volunteering and academic
experiences. The research topic aimed to identify the issues faced by pedestrian to access public transport. Observations on site to study the existing land-use and relate to the policies mentioned by the government. The research was concluded by providing guidelines to implement the policies for a better street network contributing to Transit -Oriented system.
