Sina Erol is an a non licensed architect specialized in wood manipulation techniques and lighting design interested in the intersection of art, architecture, and computational technologies. Growing up in Istanbul, Turkey, Sina has long been influenced by the idea of craftsmanship and by the necessity to better one's own mastery over design tools and techniques. Even though in his earlier studies, Sina focused rigorously on drafting and painting as part of his design process and representation, continuous exploration of digital tools and methods to derive at complex relationships led him to the understanding that all design is computational even in its most primitive way, yet in the end inescapably craft oriented. Sina is currently spending his post graduation working on competition proposals and preparing exhibition work that branches off of his thesis research and project. These qualities position Sina within the world of makers and thinkers, constantly questioning possibilities of architecture to reveal the unnoticed, overlooked, and the unforeseen.
