About

During my time at high school, the mystery of building construction, design, the facade renders, the profound planning and the secret of the differing interior temperature of a building in comparison to the exterior got me inquisitive whenever went on a school trip on to explore a less familiar building. The curiosity towards finding out more and more about the building made me apprehend my determination to study architecture after high school.

During my time studying BA (Hons) in Architecture at the University of Kent, the course provided the students with project briefs that allowed the students to work with varying scales and to explore challenges to the project in real life along with finding solutions to tackle those challenges. These tasks ranged from constructing a structurally stable bridge and beach hut units for starters, art gallery, large-scale retreat centre designed for neurally struggling students to a wide-scale housing project to overcome lack of affordable housing problem in Sandwich, England. The procedure of producing these projects, I noticed my interest inclining towards construction, sustainable material usage and environment-friendly design. That is when I knew that I had to pursue this course after accomplishing my bachelor's degree.

In academics, I focus on learning about the real-life scenario as much as I can by paying thorough attention to detail. My final sheets in submission reflect how various aspects such as built surrounding, broader context, possible planning and interiors stand analysed, resulting in the identification of the type of circulation and the connection between spaces.

Besides academics, I am currently involved as the head of incubation of ideas for an Enactus committee at the University of Kent. The Enactus society deals with two major projects, one of which is Sakhee that aims at improving menstrual health and manufacturing reusable sanitary napkins in a village in India. The other project, named EcoFest, focuses on reducing the loneliness of beneficiaries by providing the elderly with an opportunity to teach how to cook to secondary school children reusing food. I like to go through architecture with varying functionalities in my free time, which helps me to derive inspiration for my ongoing projects. Besides this, I am involved in academic mentoring, business start-up scheme and sports. I learned from playing Korfball that a diversion from academics plays the principal role in re-energizing the motivation to be productive and to gain inspiration. My hobbies include sketching, reading suspense novels and playing badminton.

After I complete my masters, I plan on developing a eutopia where sustainable architecture stands as the top priority. The shifting climate situations are rapidly engulfing the whole planet, therefore I believe that architecture can majorly contribute to leading the mother earth towards an energy-efficient and sustainable future. It can be done by envisioning on reducing manufacturing costs, transporting costs, using low carbon materials, making the interiors passive without compromising the design and urban context of the building. Therefore, I aspire to study architecture which would allow me to research and derive varying techniques to make an efficient and aesthetically pleasing shell for its inhabitants.
