I am a recent graduate from Tulane School of Architecture who is interested in the intersection of design and the lived environment. I spent much of my time at school working off campus in various disciplines to make ends meet. This has led to a passion for seeing the field of architecture and design applied to overlooked aspects of life. I have furthermore taken an interest in design build as an avenue to pursue this passion. With this focus I am hoping to break into the field of architecture and work for a firm that shares these goals.
James C Reilly LLC, Hamden, CT, US, Intern
I surveyed properties for design purposes and property documentation. Brought construction documents and design proposals from AutoCAD to Rhinocerous. Used 3D modeling programs and Photoshop to render images for marketing purposes.
Tulane School of Architecture Woodshop, New Orleans, LA, US, Worker
Worked as an assistant to the shop manager working shifts as a supervisor to architects using the woodshop. Alongside this, I also assisted the shop manager in special projects around the school.
Sepot Architects, North Branford, CT, US, Intern
I worked with AutoCAD creating construction documents alongside the lead designer; plans, sections, elevations as well as electrical, plumbing, and lighting plans. Everything was done within the constraints of local and state building code. I also surveyed properties for potential projects and construction documents.
Tulane University, New Orleans, LA, US, Bachelors, Architecture
The strengths of this program were the level of importance placed on-site and context analysis for all projects. Accompanying this was an emphasis on the iterative process through multiple mediums. These two paired together gave the incentive to push the design process from start to finish.
Tulane School of Architecture Rome Program, Rome, IT, Bachelors, Architecture
Studied Architecture while living within Rome Italy. We spent an extensive amount of time drawing around the city and practicing visual analysis. This was a formative time as we were surrounded by some of the most advanced building techniques of that time which have lasted until the present day.
The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, US, Bachelors, Architecture
At CUA they placed a heavy emphasis on representation through hand drawing, digital rendering, and emerging technologies. From the very beginning, I was investigating with 3d printers, laser cutters, and various tools within the woodshop. It allowed me to fall in love with the various forms that architecture can take on in the design process.
