About

A creative generalist by nature, I am drawn to the interconnections of Art and Technology.

Ten years of service demonstrates the implementation of technical designs for systems integration, sensor technology, image analysis, and instrumentation, while engaging in increasingly complex frameworks. Synthesizing a diverse array of technical and artistic ideations exemplifies the latest creative projects.

Employment

Freelance, Los Angeles, CA, US, Designer

Creates experimental designs integrating technology and visual arts through collaboration, featured amalgamated drawing/print at Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) Student Show, 2019.

Drafts 2D/3D assets for architectural projects, proposals, presentations, marketing, and events; designed, and installed kinetic sculpture at the Barrett Art Gallery in Santa Monica, CA, 2016.

United States Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, Senior Flight Instrumentation Specialist

Implemented flight-test designs for engineering operations as an aircrew officer while collecting over 444 terabytes of flight instrumentation data for analysis. Received Civilian Aerial Achievement Award.

Prepared and translated, electrical, mechanical, and optical drawings in an interdisciplinary work environment for aircraft systems integration, coordinating with Boeing, Lockheed, and NASA teams.

Jan 2010 - Jan 2014

United States Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, Integrated Systems Technician

Applied technical designs to determine the systemic impact that our modifications on aerospace equipment would have upon total system operation.

Identified unusual malfunctions referencing technical drawings and using diagnostic equipment to then resolve mission critical challenges primarily involving modified F-16 fighters, responsible for safe and nominal operation of $32 million in government assets.

Jan 2008 - Jan 2010

Aug 2007 - Jan 2008

United States Air Force, Aviano, IT, Avionic Sensors Technician

Verified technical drawings to maintain optical, electro-mechanical, and avionic sensor systems in a mission critical environment, named Avionics Professional of the Year and promoted out of cycle.

Apr 2003 - Aug 2007

Education

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, CA, US, Bachelors, Architectural Studies

This major features coursework in three areas: Critical Studies, Design and Technology. The curriculum introduces the fundamental ordering systems of architecture: form, space, tectonics and program and their relationships to political, social and cultural constructs. The critical studies sequence builds a foundation in critical thinking that engages historical and contemporary disciplinary contexts. These strong critical thinking skills are practiced in the design studio as assignments that introduce longstanding disciplinary questions, engage the social role of architecture, and respond to particular audiences, geographic contexts and programmatic activities. Critical thinking drives the technology sequence with assignments that question emerging technologies, conventional and innovative material assemblies, and the role of architectural representation.
