Sophia Shenhan Zhu is an architectural designer, an assistant instructor, and a set designer. Zhu graduated from M.Arch II program at Princeton University’s School of Architecture with scholarship, Teaching Transcript Certificate, and Media & Modernity Certificate. Zhu received her BA(AS) and M.Arch from University of Hong Kong’s Faculty of Architecture with a full scholarship and a prize for outstanding academic performance. She was also educated at Tsinghua University. Zhu has assisted in teaching graduate, undergraduate, and K-12 courses at Princeton University and has practiced architecture and interior design at Aedas, Alexander Wong Architects, Priestman Architects, and Jiakun Architects. Her academic design work has been featured in international awards and exhibited in London, Boston, New York, Princeton, and Hong Kong.
Her current work focuses on the agency and design of architecture in postcolonial, marginalized places and urban studies based on human & nature relations. This work is featured in the exhibition Too Fast Too Slow in New York City in April of 2019. Her theater projects have been performed in New York and Princeton.
