Keaton is an aspiring architect and urban planner who graduated from Kent State University’s Architecture Program in the Spring of 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. Upon graduation, Keaton moved to New York City and enrolled at the City College of New York to receive a dual master’s degree in Urban Design and Architecture. Keaton received a Master of Urban Design in 2019 and will graduate in May 2023 with a Master of Architecture.
Keaton chose to pursue a dual master’s degree because he believes architecture is a wide spectrum of disciplines. That architecture is at its best when those disciplines are in sync to serve the public sphere, enhance culture, achieve community goals, address social and environmental injustices, and so much more. Keaton strives to be a lifelong learner in the design field, and the time spent in school learning multiple design disciplines has been a meaningful starting point for him.
Keaton’s time spent in professional settings has taught him how to work well within a collaborative work setting and communicate with team members, most recently over online platforms like Zoom or Microsoft teams. Keaton would bring expertise in a wide range of 3D software, site analysis techniques, and knowledge of the multiple phases of project documentation at varying architectural scales. Keaton is passionate about designing purposeful and equitable architecture, and is thrilled to begin his career within the architecture profession.
