My name is Rex Hughes. I’m a fifth year architecture student at Syracuse University, graduating May 2019. During my time at school I have developed an interest in sustainable architecture, material experimentation, and theoretical design. Being from Chicago, towers have always been an inspiration to me. The John Hancock, the Thompson Center, and 150 North Riverside are among my favorite projects.
My summer internships at SKJN Architekten (2017) and Bloom Companies (2018) improved my skills in schematic design and site planning, and furthered my understanding of building details, project phasing, municipal codes, and LEED certification. I have been working with digital modeling and representation software since my first semester at school and am proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Rhino, and the Adobe Suite.
