I am a recent graduate, Brooklyn native, idealist, and artist amongst many other things. I’ve wanted to pursue a career in the art and design fields since high school years. Since graduating from Murry Bergtraum high school in 2011, I gained interest in architecture, growing up in New York City how could I not. I decided to attend New York City College of Technology for Architecture Technology so that I could get a feel for craft while still in the comfort zone of my home city. I spent 3 years at City Tech developing skills and an endless desire to learn more about the art of architecture. Days after my last semester at City Tech, I transferred into the summer studio program in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech. The summer studio lasted until mid-august and would determined who’d be placed into the 1st or 2nd year of their 5 year program. Two weeks after the summer concluded, I started the fall semester in the 2nd year studio and progressed from there until graduating with my Bachelors of Architecture in May ‘18.

From an outside perspective I may lack experience working in a firm or a studio but 7 years of college and stepping out of my comfort zone many times throughout that process did teach me hard work, how to succeed under pressure, how to be a sponge and take in as much knowledge, criticism, and resources as possible. Working on the side while being a full-time student helped the most in improving my work ethic and time management.

I’m searching for employment but more importantly I’m looking for mentors to learn from. I’ve been a student since the age of 4 and I’m ready to continue that in a setting other than a classroom. I have the desire to learn new skills, to grow as a person, an artist, a designer. I want to be an innovator, I want to create amazing works of art. I want an opportunity to learn, to develop new skills and disciplines to better myself and the world we live in.
