Hello Archinect World!
My name is Mallorie and I'm a young designer in Colorado. In 2014 I graduated from the Environmental Design program at CU with an emphasis in Architecture along with a minor in Technology, Arts & Media. My ENVD background has lead me to a full time position as a lighting designer for a small lighting showroom in Boulder. I've also had the opportunity to work as an interior design assistant, where my primary role was 3D modeling and spatial planning.
In my free time I enjoy trail running, playing sports and experimenting with web development. I like to consider myself a well rounded team player who's always up for a challenge and learning new things.
Splashlight Studio, Boulder, CO, US, Lighting Designer & Marketing Manager
Splashlight Studio is known to be an innovative lighting showroom. We work with home owners, contractors, designers, and electricians to help find the perfect lighting solutions for their spaces. Here strong problem solving skills are a must. Each project presents it's own unique set of restraints. For large scale projects I work closely with our clients on lighting layouts, estimates, and project organization. My background in digital design has given me the opportunity to take over the marketing and advertising for the company.
Haven Interiors, Superior, CO, US, Lead Design Assistant
My original role at Haven was primarily CAD modeling, as time has gone on I have proven my ability to take on more responsibilities. Depending on the client's needs, I assist with furniture selection, layout, and even contribute my own floor plan ideas for remodel projects. Keeping client folders organized is also one of my primary roles. From initial intake to final execution it is critical for us to keep a detailed record of what goes on throughout a project. With my web design background, I've been able to help with website updates and began managing the company Facebook page.

This opportunity allowed me to get my feet wet in the design industry. I reproduced client artwork, organized/shipped products, learned basic web design skills, and was a regular blogger.

They taught physical modeling, computer modeling, problem solving, sketching and design presentation.
The Technology, Arts & Media minor offered at CU taught the fundamental skills and principles necessary for graphic design and web design.
