Bilkent University, Ankara, TR, BArch, Interior Architecture & Environmental Design
The curriculum is organized around studios which prepare the novice designer to deal progressively with larger and more complex interiors and greater technical detail. The studios enable students to synthesize knowledge from parallel courses in history, art, technology, drawing and principles of design. The first two years are intended to develop an understanding of different concepts of design in form, material, space, composition, and introduce the fundamentals of total interior space planning and design. The third and fourth years provide the opportunity to specialize in different interest areas such as: computers, new materials and technologies, humanities, social sciences, safety, special needs of the handicapped, and elderly etc. Digital Media (Computers) is also integrated into different levels of education.
The curriculum combines the arts with technical and scientific studies in order to give students a well-rounded education. As the department is cognizant of modern trends in interior architecture and the implications of new technologies, it aims at providing a balanced education between the artistic, technological and humane aspects of the profession.

Wishbone, is a conceptual, separable silver ring representing a contemporary expression of “Breaking the Wishbone Tradition”. The ring is designed with a 925-carat silver ring plated with gold. The laser stuck ring can be separated by breaking the tiny joint without leaving any marks on. Give this Wishbone ring to someone as a gesture of hope and well wishes. Make a wish and pull the pieces apart. Not only is it seen as a personal or romantic gesture, the Wishbone ring also symbolizes luck so it can be given as gifts on birthdays, anniversaries and also can be used as wedding rings.
A’ Design Award, Award
As its name suggests, this ring design was inspired by nature's most amazing and unusual phenomenon eclipse which is an astronomical event that occurs when an astronomical object is temporarily obscured, either by passing into the shadow of another body or by having another body pass between it and the viewer. The ring is behaving much like the passing moon as it blocks some of the beams behind it.
A’ Design Runner-Up, Honorable Mention
The popular expression 'my lucky break' derives from the tradition of breaking the wishbone. Once an ancient Roman tradition, a wish is granted to the person with the largest piece. Give this silver wishbone ring to a friend or a lover as a gesture of hope and well wishes. Make a wish and pull the silver pieces apart.

Waves bench which is designed for performing arts venue Zorlu Center PSM’s stairs in Istanbul, gives fluidity to outdoor stairs. Made of cross sections that are fabricated each one separate from the other. Waves was created as a street furniture with the idea of user protection against seating on a cold and dirty ground. Waves bench is named after the geometric shape of the basic module, which is thus transformed from a visual motif into a functional form. This design proposal for a contemporary city bench seeks to understand the concept of a stairs furniture as a holistic design problem. The wavy outline of the bench starts to interact with the outline of the stairs becoming a part of it. The relationship between the elements is strong and smooth.

The Dervish ring takes inspiration from the Sufi Saints and their attire. While whirling, Dervish's arms are open: his right arm is directed to the sky, ready to receive God's beneficence; his left hand, upon which his eyes are fastened, is turned toward the earth. The semazen conveys God's spiritual gift to those who are witnessing the Sema. Revolving from right to left around the heart, the semazen embraces all humanity with love. The human being has been created with love in order to love.
