The Effect of Tea, Dissertation Research Project, XJTLU

The design concentrated on tea, a significant element in Chinese culture. Thusly the site was selected within an area well-known for tea production in a rural area. Besides, new types of settlements were experimented which could potentially become alternatives to fully-urban and fully-rural environments.

• Visited tea-production sites, interviewed local residents and researched the background information of tea production as well as the lifestyle of the locals in the village

• Explored designs through models and sketches

• Applied AutoCAD, Photoshop and Rhino to complete design

Swing Tower, “IDEERS” Competition, Taipei 

IDEERS stood for “Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools”, an international competition about architectural structure. Participants were required to design a structure of high-rise building which could effectively resist against the earthquake.

• Participated in the making of test model and analyzed structural problems

• Calculated the efficiency of the model

Oct 2017             Bombay Beach Biennial, Bombay Beach, California, USA

The Bombay Beach Biennale is a renegade celebration of art, music, and philosophy. It transforms the town into a fully-immersive art movement for three days out of the year, but leaves a lasting mark the site.

• Developed concept and design the light named “jellyfish”

• Producing the handmade light individually and Participated in the installation of light

Led by Alex Schweder, it aims to explore the conceptual space which enhances different relationship between people.

• Discussed conceptual ideas and created the conceptual drawing

Garden, UCLA

The “Garden” is abstract concept inspired from the film “the power of ten”, revealing backstage of certain project with corresponding presentation.

• Researched background information for selected project and discussed the final form of presentation.
