About

I am an advancing young Designer, ambitious to learn both conceptually and constructively about space. I have developed and added to my ambition through travels and learning about people, their cultures and their environments, all of which help materialize their sense of space and articulate objects and relations within.

I received my Masters of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from the Columbia University GSAPP in May 2018, where I was awarded the Lucille Lowenfish Memorial Prize for my Studio exploration "Architecture & Identity". My design work explored the activated yet spatial qualities of Architecture which manifested and engaged with the people and surroundings it affected, historically, geographically, culturally & sustainably, experimenting with different mediums of representing those design ideas including rendering, models and film. I expanded the scope further as Associate Faculty at GSAPP for the summer AAD semester 2018, exploring Infrastructures and Land Art.

My work experience prior to Masters at Faisal Bilwany Associates in Karachi, Pakistan, as Project Architect provided me the opportunity to work on multiple projects in different stages of design and construction; from 1800 sqft commercial mid-rise projects to residences of up to 10000 sqft alongside renovation/ interior finishes. I handled responsibility from clients, to design, construction through relevant drawing submissions and construction documents. I actively learnt both in the studio environment and through the on-site experience, engaging with the needs of the clients and the site conditions regulations. I developed skills in detailing and articulating spaces and as well as designing them.
