From the ruins of Chan Chan and Cahuachi, to the Incan city of Machu Picchu, I was amazed by the level of detail achieved with such simple tools and technology; how they used different techniques and architectural details to differentiate religious sites from residential and agricultural areas. At a young age, I learned that the built environment was very important for our ancestors to use to build the framework of society that has carried on until today. This developed my passion for interior design and the desire to design spaces that people enjoy, as well as space one can connect with.
As humans living in a metropolitan area, we spend most of our time indoors and the spaces we occupy affect how we feel. As a designer, I believe that one of the most important elements of a project is understanding who I’m designing for and the human element in utilizing the space, in order for me to create a functional design.
