About

Da Huo is an architecture student who study in the University of Michigan. He used to study landscape architecture before. He is good at rendering and construction drawing. He can also speak Mandarin, Cantonese and English. His research direction is sustainable and high-performance building. His method of design process is to through an analysis and a clear personal perspective, which elaborate architectonic schemes according to the relationship between function and form, feeling and space, the integral use of the natural light and materials property.

Study landscape architecture during the undergraduate school in Iowa State, Da learned how to balance the relationship between natural elements and artificial work in a relatively big scale. When turned to architecture in graduate school in the University of Michigan, he upgraded the knowledge base more into solutions and dialectical thinking of typologies and representation. Moreover, he obtained the skills of using robot arms, fabrication tools in the fab lab, which is the strength in the University of Michigan.

Da also worked in Shanghai Xiandai Architectural design group to be a landscape intern for summer internship for schematic design of some outdoor space. He worked in Gruen Associate in Los Angeles this March to draw some construction drawing as an externship trainee. What he practiced make him more practical toward architectural business world. If there is more chances, he would like to put his passion, creation and motivation to the field he love and explore what architecture is for next generation.
