About

I am a post-professional student at Masters in Design Studies, in the Art, Design and Public Domain concentration at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. I also received a B.A. in architecture and urbanism from the University of Sao Paulo, in Brazil.

In Sao Paulo, I have led my own exhibition design and architecture firm  (Estudio Cidade office) from 2012 to 2016.  I also have worked in interdisciplinary offices in Sao Paulo where I coordinated a diverse range of projects of architecture and exhibition design.

In my professional career, I am interested in exploring the connections among art, design, and architecture, and how this transdisciplinarity can become an effective tool to foster educational, cultural and social debates, and activate changes within the society as a whole.

Education

Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, US, Masters, Master in Design Studies - Art, Design and Public Domain concentration

The MDes program in Art, Design, and the Public Domain is a post-professional program which promotes many interdisciplinary debates about the role of art and design within the social and public spheres.
In my case, this post-professional master program encouraged me to experiment different media, materials, and scales, challenging me to break a few pre-concept barriers that my background as architect and designer began to ground in my professional path so far. Different classes - such as Film Theory with Giuliana Bruno, Exhibiting Blackness with Sarah Lewis, etc. - have also nurtured profound debates and conversations based on extensive and complex theories and bibliography.

School of Architecture and Urbanism - University of Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, SP, BArch, Architecture and Urbanism

Differently, than in the United States, schools of architecture and urbanism in Brazil provide the students with a broad overview of the various practices of architects. It means that, in my bachelor degree, I had classes and courses in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, urban planning and graphic design. The purpose of this broader curriculum is to make the students experiment different scales, practices, and roles of designers and architects.
